Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
1. Bookings and the commission
Submitting a booking request on EliteRent reserves a car for the dates you choose but does not itself charge you anything. A 10% commission of the rental total is due to confirm the booking — right now this is collected manually (we or the owner will contact you), since online card payment isn’t connected yet. The remaining balance is paid directly to the owner, in person, at pickup. EliteRent listings do not require a security deposit.
2. Cancellations and refunds
Once a booking is confirmed and the commission received: cancelling 48 hours or more before the rental start gets a full commission refund. Cancelling 24–48 hours before gets a 50% refund. Cancelling less than 24 hours before, or not showing up, forfeits the commission. Bookings that were never confirmed (commission not yet received) can be cancelled at any time with nothing owed.
3. Who can rent
Renters must be between 21 and 65 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience, unless a specific listing states otherwise. You must hold a valid driver’s license and provide accurate identification when asked by the owner at pickup.
4. Insurance and damage
Each listing shows the insurance coverage and deductible that apply to that car. Renters are responsible for any damage during the rental up to the stated deductible. Damage must be reported, and claims filed, within 48 hours of drop-off — after that window, claims can’t be processed.
5. Your information
We collect the contact details you provide when booking (name, phone, email, date of birth, preferred contact channel, and any comment you add) to share with the car’s owner so they can reach you about your trip, and to run the EliteRent marketplace. We don’t sell your information.
6. Renter responsibilities
Treat the car with reasonable care, return it on time and in the condition you received it (normal wear excepted), and follow any mileage limits or usage terms shown on the listing. Traffic fines, tolls, and penalties incurred during your rental are your responsibility.
7. Owner responsibilities
Owners are expected to list accurate information about their car, honor confirmed bookings, and keep the vehicle in the condition described in the listing, including valid insurance.
8. Changes to these terms
EliteRent is an early-stage platform and these terms may be updated as the product evolves. Continuing to use EliteRent after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms or a specific booking? Reach out through the contact details on your booking confirmation, or to the car’s owner directly via your chosen contact channel.
